QR Summary Report
The QR Summary Configuration tool is used to configure reports with QR codes and Text output to print PDF Reports on the device or on the web. Users also have the option to share the reports as an image or print to a Zebra Label printer if that has been configured for their organization. Both Croptrak Web and Mobile app can use a camera to scan the QR code and read the date from one form and transfer it onto a new form. Prior to setting up your QR Summary report make sure to do the QR Mapping between your forms so the scanning of the codes will be successful.
Creating QR Form Summary Reports
In Croptrak Web, from the main menu select Form Builder.
Select the form for the report you would like to create.
After creating the QR Form mappings (see previous document)
Select QR Form Layout from the Actions menu.
A QR summary layout editor dialog will open.
To add a new report, 1. select ”Reports” and then 2. Press the “+” add report button.
Give the report a name and click on the Add Report Button.
Next add a page to the report, 1. select the report name from the left column and then 2. press the “+” button.
Select “QR” to add a QR code to the new report page. This will generate a QR code coded with the data filled out in the form.
Select “Summary” to add a printed summary to the new report page. If “Summary” is selected, you may add all available form items as the default summary by selecting “Add Default Summary Items.”
Click on the “Add Items” button to add selected items.
After adding the new report, the “Reports” tree node will be updated as shown below with a QR section and a Summary Section.
Selecting any of the add buttons will add a node of the stated type. Selecting any of the deleted buttons will delete the currently selected node. When deleting a node, all children of that node must be deleted first. For example, you cannot delete a page that has an item. The item must be deleted first.
Use the “Up” button to move the selected node up in its parent node. Use the “Down” button to move the item down. See the example below.
There are 2 types of items available for a QR summary page. These are “QR” and “Summary.”
A QR item is a printed QR code (2D barcode).
Several editable items control the display of this QR code when printed.
Options for Zebra Printed reports
- ItemType – This is the item’s type. Supported values include “QR” for a QR code or “Summary” for the printable table as described above.
- UseZPL – Set to “True”
- Magnification Level – Size of QR code, use values 1 – 6 where 1 is the smallest and 6 is the largest. The larger the value the larger the printed QR code.
- ReliabilityLevel – Reliability level of QR code. Possible values include
- H
- Q
- M
- L
- These are in order where “H” is the most reliable and “L” is the least. Less reliable values may print faster.
- FontSize – This is the text font size.
- ItemX – This is the X coordinate of a QR code.
- ItemY – This is the Y coordinate of a QR code.
- LabelSuffix – This is appended to the label portion of a label, value pair. As an example, If a label of such a pair has a value of “Name” and the “LabelSuffix” has a value of “:”, the label will print as “Name:”.
- Rotate – If this is set to “True” a “Summary” item will print in landscape.
For PDF reports for PDF and Share output
- QR PDF Size – Set the size of the QR Code for the PDF report.
A “Summary” item is a list of printed form items that will accompany the QR code.
The summary has a configurable “Font Size.”
The items may be “Rotated” to display in landscape.
All the form item locations can be adjusted by making a selection in the “Adjust All” combo box and entering a value in “Adj’ By” and then clicking on the “Adjust All” button.
You may add an additional form item by clicking on the add + button. (See Adding a Form Item)
You may remove a form item by selecting a form item and then clicking on the trash can button.
Form items may be repositioned in relation to the other form items by using the up and down buttons. The up and down buttons will alter the Y (X if rotated) coordinates of both the label and value.
Adding a form item will call up the “Summary Item” dialog. Select the item type to see the options available for that type.
There are 3 types of form items which may be added to a QR summary. These are “Form Item,” “Text,” and “Input.”
Adding a form item will require the selection of an available form item. These are listed in a drop-down box. See the example below.
“Guid” is filled out automatically.
X and Y coordinates will be required for both the label (form item descriptor) and value.
An input item is either a line or a box to contain handwritten entries on a printed QR summary label. In addition to X and Y coordinates for the label (Caption) and value (Line or Box), input items may contain a caption. This will identify what the input area is for when it has been printed.
A text item is text which will be directly rendered on the printed QR summary. The text will appear as the value saved in “Caption” unless a template is specified. See “Templates”. The coordinates of the text item are Value X and Value Y. *Note (Validation requires all 4 coordinates)
Notes are used to describe the report and not printed on the report, they may be saved using the text box just above the label “Notes”.
Templates
Enter one of these values in “Template” to print out one of the following:
“Item#”: Number of currently printed copy (useful when printing more than 1 copy of a QR summary).
“Now”: Current date and time
“Today”: Current date without the time
“XofY”: Current copy out of the total number of copies being printed.
Arranging Summary Items
Here’s how to arrange the item on the page:
- To arrange items on the page, they use X, Y coordinates; each item has a label and a value. If your form item is Crop, your label is “Crop,” and the value would be something like “Corn.” You have a pair of X,Y coordinates for each label and each value.
- When setting the X coordinates, which run from the smallest on the left to the largest on the right, you’ll want to use the same value for all items if you want them to align.
- The Y coordinates run from the smallest on the top to the largest on the bottom of the page.
- To align all the labels on the let side of the paper with a margin, set “Label X” to 50.
- Decrease the value if you want less margin on the left or increase the value if you would like more margin.
- In the X direction (left to right) to align all the labels on the left side of the paper with a margin set “Label X” to 50.
- To align all the values set “Value X” to 175. That worked well here. If you have longer labels, you can increase the number; if you have shorter labels, decrease the number making sure to leave space between your longest label and the value.
- Now, in the Y direction (Top to Bottom), if you want the Label and Value on the same line, then they should have the same value. The numbers start small at the top of the page and increase as you go down the page.
Alternatively, if I wanted the Labels on one line and then the Value indented on the next line, I could configure it something like this.
“Label X” all at 50 so they are aligned on the Left. Then “Value X” set at 60, so they are intended to the right from the label.
The “Y Labels” will have a smaller value than the “Y Values.” This way the Label is displayed and then the value underneath.
