Admin Guide: Creating QR Form Mapping for Multiple Forms – the Back Story:

In this example, the QR to Form technology is being used to demonstrate shipping harvested crop from the field to another location for storage or processing.

A person at the harvest location fills out a Shipping form in Croptrak or Croptrak Web (CTW) and generates a QR code. That code can be printed and handed to the truck driver or messaged to the truck driver to correspond to the load that they are carrying.  When the driver arrives at the receiving location, someone with CropTrak or CTW scans the QR code using QR to Form button, and a receipt form is automatically populated with the relevant information that was filled out on the Shipping form.

In this operation, sometimes it’s necessary to calculate the miles traveled to later calculate the shipping costs, but in other cases that is not necessary, and a flat rate is used.  On the Shipping form the user will select whether or not it is necessary to calculate the miles traveled.  Based on that selection, the QR to Form interface can be configured to open and populate different forms based on the answer.

  • In this case, when “Calculate Mileage?” is set to “Yes” on the Shipping form then when the QR code is generated from that form, the “Travel and Receipts” form should open and populate with the relevant data, including the starting and end location in order to calculate the distance traveled.
  • When “Calculate Mileage?” is set to “No” on the Shipping form, then a simpler form called “Receipts” will open and populate with the relevant data from the Shipping form.
